At Skin by Lovely, giving back is a crucial part of our DNA.

We know that what we get to do every day is a gift.

Giving back to our communities is one of the ways we show our appreciation.

In addition to our monthly in-kind donation drives for local non-profits such as The Beauty Bus, The Pixie Project, Dress for Success, and the Westside Food Bank – I’m excited to introduce you to our newest charitable partner, charity: water.

charity: water’s mission is to bring clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. They do this big, life-changing work by funding water projects, like wells and piped systems, for communities in need. charity: water also puts 100% of public donations to work in the field, as all of their operating costs are covered by private donors.

Since 2006, charity: water has completed over 35,000 water projects in over 25 countries and provided safe water to over 9.5 million people.

Most of us take water for granted. It’s not really something we worry about on a daily basis. We don’t have to take time off work or miss school to walk miles in hopes of clean water. We simply have to turn on our faucets.

So when I heard that 663 million people live without clean water, I was genuinely taken aback. That means 1 in 10 people across the globe don’t have consistent access to clean, safe drinking water and are exposed to a myriad of diseases as a result.

charity: water aims to change all of this. To provide sustainable solutions, empower communities, and solve the water crisis.

This is why my team and I are thrilled to be a part of their vision.

Last December, we raised over $18,000 from family and friends for my 40th birthday celebration. charity: water Founder, Scott Harrison, even sent a personal message to play during the party where we kicked off the fundraiser.

Inspired by the generous response from my birthday, two of Skin by Lovely’s team members, Korey and Rachel, also held their own fundraisers for charity: water in lieu of birthday and holiday gifts.

Continuing on this amazing momentum, Skin by Lovely will be hosting our largest philanthropic initiative ever on April 25th. Our three practices will be donating 100% of sales that day directly to charity: water!

And since 100% of donations to charity: water go to the field, that means every dollar received from our patients will go directly to funding water projects in developing countries.
