An Overview of Chemical Peels with Brittany White at Skin by Lovely in Santa Monica.

Hi, today we’re going to talk about peels. Patients often come in and ask which peel they should do and which one I think is the best for them. We have four peels here at Skin by Lovely. The first one is the SkinMedica Peel – that is the Illuminize Peel. We call it our “Glow-and-Go” peel, it’s going to give you a natural, healthy-looking glow. It’s great to do right before events, or parties, or anything that you have like that. It consists of salicylic acid, tree bark, and phytic acid. It’s $150 here at Skin by Lovely.

The next one is the SkinMedica Vitalize Peel. It consists of salicylic acid, retinol, and lactic acid. This one, you’re going to get a little bit deeper of a peel. You may have some redness and some irritation. That one is $200 here at Skin by Lovely.

The next one we have is the VI Peel. The VI Peel consists of TCA, salicylic acid, and vitamin C. The VI Peel does go a bit little deeper. You’re going to get a little bit of a deeper peel from it as well as some more redness and irritation. I do have a before and after of the VI Peel. So if you look here, the patient has some hyperpigmentation and overall texture inconsistency. And if you look at the after picture, she’s much smoother and brighter.

Another peel that we have here at Skin by Lovely is our Cosmelan Peel. Our Cosmelan Peel consists of lactic acid, salicylic acid, retin A, and hydroquinone. It’s geared more for patients that have hyperpigmentation or melasma. We do have a before and after as well. If you can see here, this patient right here has a lot of hyperpigmentation areas. She did have melasma, and after the treatment she’s much brighter and much smoother. The Cosmelan Peel runs about $900 here at Skin by Lovely.
