PORTLAND, Ore. — Skin by Lovely™, a leading provider of medical aesthetics in Oregon and California, is honored to have two of its Portland based practitioners, Lovely Laban, GNP-C MSN and Tita Comeaux-Fortier FNP-C MSN, appointed to expert and stakeholder advisory roles with the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN).

Co-founder and clinical director of Skin by Lovely™, Lovely Laban, has been appointed to the 2016 Oregon State Board of Nursing’s Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Rules Advisory Committee (APRN-RAC). Committee members of the APRN-RAC review issues related to advanced practice nursing, provide public input and findings that may be presented to the OSBN, including scope-of-practice, prescriptive authority, educational program standards, and licensing and renewal requirements.

“Providing safe, high quality nursing and medical care to the public is of the utmost importance to me,” said Lovely Laban, GNP-C, MSN. “I am honored to serve alongside fellow medical practitioners and experts to support the important work of the Oregon State Board of Nursing, especially in this time of significant growth for Oregon, and the industry as a whole.”

Laban, who holds a Masters of Nursing degree and national certification in gerontology, is one of the 34 appointed APRN-RAC Committee Members who represent diverse license types, varied geographic practice locations and a wide range in areas of expertise.

Skin by Lovely™ is also honored to announce fellow Portland-based practitioner Tita Comeaux-Fortier, FNP-C MSN has been invited to participate as a member of the APRN-RAC Stakeholders Group. Stakeholder’s expertise and knowledge is key to ensuring that each APRN RAC meeting has attendees with diverse backgrounds and well-rounded perspectives.

“I am thrilled to offer my experience and expertise as a member of the stakeholders group for the OSBN,” said Comeaux-Fortier, FNP-C, MSN. “It is important for practitioners who are involved directly with patients on a day-to-day basis, to take an active role in helping support and shape best practices for the industry.”

Tita is a nationally board certified nurse practitioner with a decade of experience in aesthetic medicine and over thirty years in the field of medicine.
