Juvederm® Vollure™ XC

Are you noticing lines and wrinkles forming around your mouth and nose? Then, you might be a good candidate for Juvederm® Vollure XC, one of the newer hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from Allergan, the makers of BOTOX® Cosmetic. Juvederm® Vollure™ XC is used to:

Juvederm® Vollure fills in lines & wrinkles

At Skin by Lovely, we use Juvederm® Vollure™ XC to volume to nasolabial folds, wrinkles and lines that are considered mild to moderate in terms of severity and nasolabial folds. This filler may also be used as a lip filler.

Juvederm® Vollure XC is a cosmetic hyaluronic acid dermal filler designed to treat mild to moderate wrinkles and folds that form in the lower face. To make Juvederm Vollure XC, Allergan uses Vycross technology. The technology involves combining high and low molecular weight for better cross-linking of the substance’s hyaluronic chains.

Because Juvederm Vollure is formulated to feature a blend of gel firmness and low levels of cohesiveness, it gives cosmetic specialists access to an adaptable formula designed to add subtle volume to your face. The product also provides a slight adjustment of moderate or severe facial lines and folds.

Juvederm Vollure is made from hyaluronic acid, so the cosmetic product is able to replenish moisture within the skin. Young skin looks the way that it does because of its ability to hold onto water and retain the proper amount of moisture. As you age, your skin becomes unable to preserve moisture as it did when you were younger, causing a noticeable loss of firmness and pliability in addition to volume and suppleness.

Above any other treatment, hyaluronic acid is able to enhance your skin’s moisture content while revitalizing the outer layers of your skin. This makes it feel and appear softer and smoother while giving you a radiant glow. An injection of a product made from hyaluronic acid almost immediately improves the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

Before the treatment, your injection specialist will clean the injection area and use a fine gauge needle to insert Juvederm Vollure just below your skin. You may need more than one session to receive the results that you desire.

After the first injection, your injection specialist will likely pause for a few seconds to let the lidocaine in the product work before moving on with another injection. They will insert Juvederm Vollure in small increments into the areas that need to be treated. To smooth and ensure even distribution, your provider will then shape the filler by lightly massaging it with their fingers.

Treatment sessions generally take about 15 minutes to complete, not including your consultation. As with all dermal filler treatments, you may need several sessions to get the desired results. This may depend on the area that you’re having treated and how your body reacts to the substance. Over time, your body will absorb the fillers. When this happens, your skin returns to its regular state. Because of this, dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment that require maintenance and follow-up treatments.

Most patients report little-to-no discomfort during a dermal filler treatment, as each syringe also contains the local anesthetic, lidocaine. To ensure comfort, we provide you with ice to the area and offer a topical anesthetic.

Juvederm Vollure is the longest-lasting dermal filler for the treatment of nasolabial folds. When Juvederm Vollure was tested, researchers found that the product can last for as long as 18 months, making it one of the longest-lasting dermal fillers on the market. A clinical trial testing the injectable found that 59 percent of those who participated saw an improvement in the lines around their mouths for up to that year-and-a-half point. In addition, 82 percent of participants reported that they were happy with their results at the 6-month mark while 68 percent of them were satisfied with the treatment at 8 months.

If you’re 21 or older, have unwanted wrinkles and folds in the lower half of your face, and are in relatively good health, you are likely a candidate for Juvederm Vollure and similar dermal fillers. However, all patients require a personal consultation with our aesthetic injection specialists. We will examine your skin, discuss your concerns and desired results, and study your medical history to determine if you’re a good candidate for Vollure. As fillers are a prescription medication, a full, accurate health history and list of medications and supplements is required before treatment. Patients with a history of reactions to injectables, are allergic to lidocaine, or have a history of severe allergies should not use Vollure.

To give people an idea of possible side effects after Juvederm Vollure injections, the clinical study also recorded subjects’ reactions. To track the side effects, the study’s participants were asked to keep a 30-day journal. If a side effect continued to impact a subject for longer than 30 days, the study considered it an adverse event.

According to the study, most of the side effects were minimal and easy for the participants to manage. In fact, it found that the majority of the participants’ side effects were gone without interference within one week. Most of the study’s participants experienced at least one mild, short-term side effect from the treatment. The most common ones were skin firmness, tenderness to the touch and some mild swelling. Minor redness, bruising and itching were other common side effects of the Juvederm Vollure treatment.

More serious side-effects are rare and are most often prevented by seeing a reputable provider with experience administering dermal fillers.

Because every person’s specific needs regarding anti-aging treatments are unique, the cost for Juvederm Vollure varies. The amount that you’ll spend for a cosmetic treatment depends on the area in which you live as well as the experience of the specialist providing the treatment.
