Wrinkle relaxers are versatile in that they can be used in so many incredible ways.
BOTOX® (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a brand of wrinkle relaxer. You may also have heard it referred to as a wrinkle reducer, neuromodulator and neurotoxin.
It’s an injectable treatment made from botulinum toxin type A, a substance which temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for causing lines and wrinkles to form. It’s manufactured by Allergan, the same makers of Juvederm, SkinMedica and Kybella.
BOTOX results last an average of 3-4 months.
Dysport® (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is a brand of wrinkle relaxer that is manufactured by Galderma, who also make the popular dermal filler line- Restylane®!
Dysport results last an average of 3-4 months.
DAXXIFY™ (abobotulinumtoxinA) is the newest neuromodulator to hit the market and it is the first and only peptide-powered, FDA-approved frown line treatment. DAXXIFY™ results last an average of 6 months.
Skin by Lovely was one of the first practices in the US to offer this treatment in 2022.
DAXXIFY™ is manufactured by Revance who also makes the RHA family line of dermal filers.
Like BOTOX, the active ingredient in Jeuveau® is Botulinum Toxin Type A. Results from clinical studies showed that Jeuveau may kick in faster than other wrinkle relaxers and may last longer for certain patients.
Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is manufactured by Evolus.
Jeuveau results last an average of 3-4 months.
The best part about a wrinkle relaxer treatment is that you will have no downtime and should be able to continue your day immediately after receiving your injections!
Results vary but are usually visible by day seven. We may recommend a follow-up appointment to evaluate your results and, if necessary, administer a little more treatment.
